In classic World’s Borough fashion, a rainbow of cultures came together last Saturday in Astoria Park for the first annual International Culture Fest.

The celebration, hosted by the Central Astoria Local Development Coalition and supported by various city agencies, united music and dance from more than 10 nations.

Among those who represented the immigrant groups of Western Queens were, from top left, performers from the Niall O’Leary School of Irish Dance; a dragon dancer — who captivated two young audience members — from the Japanese Folk Dance Institute of New York; youth with the Pontion Society Komninoi of New York, who performed ancient Greek dance; a fan dancer with the Japanese Folk Dance Institute; bottom left, dancers of Banatul Romanian Folklore; and, right, the Issa Cabrera Band playing Brazilian Folkloric Traditions, which drew a large crowd.
