About Cristina Schreil
Award-winning reporter and photojournalist covering music news worldwide from New York City and the San Francisco Bay Area. I regularly contribute to Strings magazine, writing news, features and reviews. Previously, I was the Arts Editor and an Associate Editor, covering Western Queens news, at the Queens Chronicle newspaper. There, I helped the paper earn three New York Press Association awards for overall arts coverage and photography. I also got to roam and write in New York City’s most vibrant (and delicious) borough.
I’ve also written for Acoustic Guitar, PsychologyToday.com, iVillage.com, Classical Guitar, xoJane, WomansDay.com, The Pacific Sun Newspaper, Hamptons Art Hub, and Thought Catalog. I’ve also been published on The New York Times’ “Metropolitan Diary.”
I’ve ghostwritten two books on parenting and am co-author of a nonfiction book to be published in December 2017.
I received a Bachelor’s in Journalism and Mass Communication, and English and American Literature from New York University. I also studied in London, England. I am based in Queens, NY and the San Francisco Bay Area. Unless otherwise cited, all photos appearing on this site are mine.
